  • Always speak to the Reader
Address the buyer’s wants – don’t bore them with information of little interest to them like company background- get to the point and tell them exactly what you want them to do.
  • Include a photo
Nothing draws more attention than a powerful photo. Print design without one is less likely to be noticed or read by buyers. If you have an event that has a recognized celebrity or product, just having a picture of that can draw in tons of attention.
  • Always have a call to action
Make sure buyers know exactly what response to make it they are interested in your product or service. This should be clearly stated along with contact information. Try to have an incentive to act now such as a special bonus if they call within a certain time period. Most people need motivation to take action.
  • Always be simplistic but bold
Don’t put too much information on your print material. Clutter confuses the reader and keeps them from taking action. Use action oriented sentences, bold fonts, and leave white space to avoid confusion. Try to only use one or two fonts throughout your print. There is only limited space on a flyer so it is important to use it effectively. Remember the KISS principal – “keep it simple stupid” Less is more in advertising!
  • Always proof proof proof
You can’t proof too many times…
get multiple people to proof before going to print.
